Short Recap of 2025

With every passing year, I have the feeling that “this year was the most important one so far”. And I guess that this feeling might be a sign that I am evolving as a musician, and in that sense, it's true. 2025 was definitely a good year, and I feel very content to close it up with a good feeling.

When it comes to touring, two events stand out. Most recently, my trip to Turkey, where I recorded the first piece for my next album, Mirage, together with a friend of mine and the great musician Cenk Erdoğan. Secondly, the spring tour in Italy which was a lot of fun and presented an opportunity to learn a lot along the way. I like to travel to all of my concerts, but this trip will forever be one of my most favourite ones, I am sure of that. The reason being not only the positive output at the end of the tour, but also the fact that my fiancé came along and, besides acting as my road manager, photographer and videographer, it’s great to have such a company on the way.

When it comes to work, the work we do together, our second YouTube channel with educational videos, is growing nicely. And the feedback is such that people actually enjoy and benefit from that content, which is a very satisfying feeling.

In the Autumn, my newest EP, pausetta came out, which was a moment that I enjoyed very much. I am very happy with that CD for several reasons, which I wrote about on my social media, but it’s really a nice little thing, give it a listen:

It’s nice to end the year with a positive balance. And it also looks great on the outside. However, there is a lot more to it. Literally thousands of hours behind the computer screen, hundreds of “NOs” by booking, tens of thousands of kilometres in the car, mostly alone, being tired, doing work that has nothing to do with playing guitar all the time. And so on. But I can’t help it; it is kind of part of the fun. Or in other words, it wouldn’t be fun without it.

There are way too many things that I’d like to give top priority to for the next year. But as it looks now, I’d like to compose and study even a little bit more than this year, and I’d like to have all the recordings for Mirage done by the end of summer. There might be one or two side projects that will tag along, but I will write about those a little bit more some other time.
